Three people were injured and one killed in a shooting police say took place at a Gilroy city councilwoman’s home during Saturday’s first few minutes.
Officers got a 911 call at 12:55 a.m. Saturday reporting a shooting at a residence on the 400 block of Las Animas Avenue near Murray Avenue – the residence of Gilroy City Councilwoman Rebeca Armendariz, according to police.
Officers who responded found a large outdoor party at the residence, and learned that an altercation had taken place just before they arrived, according to police.
Four people were shot, police said. One of them died at the scene in what police described as a homicide. The other three were taken to the hospital, two with injuries believed to be life-threatening, according to police.
