Thousands across Bay Area still in the dark after first storm

Nearly 4,400 customers are still without power in the Bay Area Wednesday morning following Tuesday’s rainstorm.

Power is still out to 2,400 customers in the North Bay, 850 in the East Bay, 620 in the South Bay, 447 on the Peninsula and 81 customers in San Francisco, PG&E spokeswoman Tamar Sarkissian said.

In Northern and Central California, 204,000 customers lost power and 63,000 are still without power Wednesday morning, Sarkissian said. Power was restored to 90 percent of the customers statewide within six hours or less, Sarkissian said.

PG&E is working through Friday to restore power but rain is forecast through the weekend, Sarkissian said.
