A Caltrain struck an unoccupied vehicle in Palo Alto Friday night. The incident occurred at 8:41 p.m. at the Charleston Road grade crossing and involved southbound train #190, according to SamsTran officials. There were approximately 306 passengers on the train at the time of the incident.
There were no reported injuries.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and stopped train movement in the area to investigate the incident.
The strike caused a delay of about 95 minutes.
The scene was cleared and normal train operations resumed at 11:36 p.m.
