Eastbound I-580 lanes reopen after trailer collision cleanup

All lanes of eastbound Interstate Highway 580 in Oakland reopened on Monday following a traffic collision involving a home trailer about five hours earlier, the California Highway Patrol said.

The collision was first reported at 5:08 a.m. just east of Seminary Avenue on eastbound Highway 580, according to the CHP. The trailer was completely destroyed and its debris blocked all four eastbound lanes. The motorists involved suffered only minor injuries.

The No. 4 lane reopened shortly before 7 a.m. and all other lanes have reopened as of 10:10 a.m., the CHP said.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
