Livermore fire prompts I-580 lane closures, major commute delays


A fire burning along Interstate Highway 580 at the eastern edge of Livermore’s city limits has closed all lanes of traffic and prompted the California Highway Patrol to issue a Sig-alert.

The fire was reported around 3:15 p.m. in the vicinity of Greenville Road and Highway 580. As of 4:15 p.m. there was no estimate for when the roadway would reopen.
