About 550 electric customers are without power Thursday night around Jack London Square in Oakland, a PG&E spokeswoman said.
The outage started at about 9 p.m. and initially 1,855 customers were without power, spokeswoman Karly Hernandez said.
PG&E officials do not know yet when the rest of the customers will have their power restored.
The cause of the outage is under investigation, Hernandez said.
