  1. The question is why does the gut instinct say that he can’t exceed a .280 BABIP? When you look at a guy like… say… David Freese and his career .344 BaBIP, it’s reasonable to think that a still maturing Lawrie, with the pressure that was placed on his shoulders in Toronto lifted, should be able to put up career best numbers, or in the terms of babip, a .310ish season, if the training staff is able to help him stay healthy and on the field.

    • What pressure on him in Toronto. Bautista and Encarnacion were the two hitters to carry the team. Rey Lawrie was a good defender, when he played and mostly an easy out or rally killer at the plate.
