Giants pick up Pagan for Torres, Ramirez
Pagan is a slap-hitting switch-hitter who hit .262 in 478 at-bats in 2011. He joins Melky Cabrera as another piece in a retooled Giants outfield.

Two more important members of the 2010 World Champion Giants won’t be with the team next year.
Center fielder Andres Torres and reliever Ramon Ramirez have been traded to the New York Mets for outfielder Angel Pagan. Torres and Ramirez join Aaron Rowand, Pat Burrell and Jonathan Sanchez as ex-2010 Giants.

The addition of Pagan likely means Carlos Beltran will not return to the Giants. The team now has more than enough live bodies to fill their outfield needs.
Pagan stole 32 bases in 123 games for the Mets in 2011, but committed a whopping 10 errors. It’s a safe bet he was brought in for the speed he brings to the top of the Giants lineup.
