Wednesday was Nick Hundley and Derek Holland’s turn to spur the Giants to their fourth-straight series victory, a 9-4 win over the Padres.
The first ninth-inning home run served up by Giants closer Hunter Strickland this season turned out to be a big one.
The Padres are in rebuilding mode, that is clear. They have not made the playoffs since their 2006 Division Series loss.
It was tale of two games. The San Francisco Giants had a 2-0 lead, cruising into the ninth.
