UPDATE 11:03 p.m.: CSN Bay Area’s Matt Steinmetz reports Curry did not have an X-ray in Sacramento. He says Curry will have his ankle examined back in the Bay Area on Wednesday.
It didn’t look like much, but Stephen Curry rolled his right ankle with about a minute left in the first half of the Warriors second exhibition game again the Sacramento Kings.
After hopping around until a stoppage in play, Curry crumpled to the ground and had to be helped off the court by teammates.
This is the same ankle that required surgery during the off-season.
The San Francisco Chronicle’s Rusty Simmons is reporting that Curry is on his way to get X-rays on the ankle.
If this turns out to be serious, the Warriors are in trouble. They don’t have a proven back-up point guard. They just signed Ish Smith four days ago after he was waived by Memphis. Monta Ellis might have to handle the point guard duties if Curry is out for an extended period of time.
