Friday’s scorching temperatures have prompted San Francisco officials to waive admission to seven city pools.
Mid-day lap swims and lessons will still take place as scheduled, but the pools will keep at least one lane open to those seeking relief from the heat.
The pools are Balboa, Coffman, Hamilton, MLK, Mission, North Beach and Sava.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the Bay Area on Friday and said that temperatures on the San Francisco shoreline could reach 96 degrees.
