A two-alarm vegetation fire is burning near state Highway 4 in Concord on Thursday afternoon, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.
The blaze was reported at 1:09 p.m. in the area of Highway 4 just east of Willow Pass Road.
County fire officials wrote on Twitter that the blaze is the largest of the season to date and “an early indicator of what is to come with Red Flag conditions this weekend.”
