A motorcyclist was injured after falling to the ground and then being struck by a vehicle in The City's Ingleside Heights neighborhood early Monday morning, police said today.

The collision was reported at about 5:30 a.m. in the area of Brotherhood Way and Arch Street.
A vehicle was traveling east on Brotherhood Way when it hit the 23-year-old man, who was on a motorcycle that was down in the roadway, according to police.
Investigators do not know why the motorcyclist was on the ground prior to the collision. The man was taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which were not life-threatening, police said.
No arrest was made in connection with the collision.
