A body was found floating in the water near Richmond Thursday, according to East Bay Regional Park District police.
The body was reported at 12:35 p.m. near the shoreline at Point Isabel Regional Park in Richmond, according to police.
The body was found on the rocks behind the East Bay Municipal Utility District Wet Weather Treatment Plant on Isabel Street and the victim, that of a female of undetermined race, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Contra Costa County coroner’s office is investigating the cause of death.
