Two morning shootings leave one dead, two injured in Oakland

A man was killed and two other people wounded in separate Oakland shootings early Thursday morning, police said.

A 26-year-old man was shot and killed at 4:55 a.m. in the 300 block of Ghormley Avenue.

His name has not yet been released by the Alameda County coroner’s bureau.

Two minutes earlier, a person was shot nearby in the 200 block of Hunter Avenue, according to police. The victim survived and is in stable condition, police said.

Police did not say whether the two shootings were connected.

Just after 4:30 a.m., a person was shot at 16th Avenue and Marin Way, a few blocks from San Antonio Park Field. He survived and is also reported to be in stable condition, according to police.
