BART officials on Tuesday reminded the public about limited late night train service that will be operating on the next three weekends this month before more regular late night service resumes in August.
On nights this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, as well as the weekends of July 22-24 and July 29-31, BART will extend service past its current 9 p.m. end time with four limited-service trains that will leave from either the Embarcadero or Civic Center stations in San Francisco at 11:30 p.m.
One train will leave from Embarcadero and stop at Civic Center, 16th Street Mission and Daly City, while a second train will leave from Civic Center and stop at Embarcadero, then West Oakland, MacArthur and Pleasant Hill.
The third train will leave from Civic Center and stop at Embarcadero, West Oakland and Bay Fair, while the fourth will leave at Civic Center and stop at Embarcadero, West Oakland, MacArthur and El Cerrito del Norte. The four trains will not be stopping at any other stations during the late night service, according to BART.
The transit agency said the service is meant to give late night workers and nightlife patrons more options to get home and is in addition to limited service being provided for night baseball games involving the San Francisco Giants or Oakland A’s.
More late night service will come starting Aug. 2 when BART expands its service until midnight on weekdays and Saturdays. Sunday service will still end at 9 p.m. to accommodate BART’s ongoing track maintenance and rebuilding work.
