Officials with the West Contra Costa Unified School District said Monday they reached a tentative agreement with United Teachers of Richmond for the coming school year.
District officials said the agreement lowers class sizes at all levels, increases the number of counselors, including those focused on college and career, and provides additional support for special education students.
The agreement still needs to be ratified by the union members before it is considered by the board of trustees.
The district board will hold a meeting Wednesday where reopening plans will be discussed and the public is invited to comment. People can access the meeting via Zoom at http://bit.ly/wccusdboardmeeting… with the ID 443916491# or by calling (669) 900-6833.
