More than 27,000 PG&E customers were still without power in the Bay Area around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning due to a storm that came through the region overnight, according to the utility. That number had come down from more than 36,000 customers around 4:30 a.m.
PG&E is working quickly to restore power before heavier rain returns Wednesday afternoon.
By 11 a.m., some of the largest remaining Bay Area outages include:
- 3,132 in San Jose
- 1,934 in Rio Vista
- 1,882 in Vacaville
- 1,793 in Bodega Bay
- 1,394 in Dixon
- 1,358 in Fairfield
- 485 in Cobb
- 461 in Daly City
Heavy rain and winds with gusts of up to 60 mph were reported around the Bay Area overnight. The National Weather Service said most of the heaviest rain shifted south over the Monterey Bay area in the early morning hours.
