Highway 4 reopens after three-truck collision backs up Pacheco traffic

A three-truck collision near the Interstate Highway 680/state Highway 4 interchange late Wednesday morning has fouled traffic on Highway 4 and on nearby Pacheco Boulevard, the California Highway Patrol and other witnesses said.

The collision, involving a white tractor-trailer rig, a United Parcel Service truck and a Republic Services garbage truck, occurred on Highway 4 immediately west of I-680 and over Pacheco Boulevard in unincorporated Pacheco.

It was first reported about 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, the CHP said.

No injuries were reported.

All lanes of eastbound Highway 4 were closed for about an hour, reopening at 1:30 p.m. Traffic issues on eastbound Highway 4, and on Pacheco Boulevard, are expected to persist into the afternoon, according to CHP officials.
