West San Jose apartment complex fire spreads to eight units, displaces 32 people

San Jose Firefighters contained two different fires that started on Tuesday evening, including one that displaced 32 people.

The first blaze sparked at a West San Jose apartment complex in the 400 block of Boynton Avenue at 6 p.m., spread to eight units and an attic, ultimately displacing 26 adults and 6 children.

San Jose Fire dispatched firefighters and upon arriving on the scene, they reported a medium-sized fire that started on the second floor.

The fire was controlled by 7:30 p.m. with no reported injuries. The cause remains under investigation, fire officials said

Around 10 p.m., the second fire started after a propane tank exploded at the intersection of northbound 880 and Stevens Creek Boulevard. However, fire officials say the cause is still under investigation.

The 1-acre vegetation fire was controlled around 11:30 p.m. with no injuries or structure damage, according to fire officials.
