The deadline for filing nomination documents for the El Cerrito City Council in November’s election has been extended to Wednesday because of a lack of incumbents filing for re-election, according to the city.
The deadline was extended due in part to incumbents not filing nomination documents for all three seats up in the Nov. 3 election by the original deadline last Friday, city officials said. Records show Paul Fadelli is the only incumbent who has filed for the upcoming election.
The three seats will be filled for four-year terms. Nomination documents can be obtained from the El Cerrito City Clerk’s office by appointment only during normal business hours, Monday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The deadline to file is now 4 p.m. Wednesday.
