Crews make quick work of Treasure Island brush fire

Fire crews on Saturday afternoon responded to a two-alarm brush fire on Treasure Island. Officials said the 2-acre blaze was contained by 3:40 p.m.

The California Highway Patrol closed the off-ramp from eastbound Interstate Highway 80 about 3:30 p.m. and issued a special traffic alert. The incident was reported at Avenue of the Palms and California Avenue.

Citizen San Francisco firefighters quickly extinguished a two-alarm grass fire on Treasure Island without injuries or structure damage on Saturday, June 20, 2020.

The San Francisco Firefighters 798 Twitter account, @SFFFLocal798, posted photos of a water boat working to extinguish the blaze, and said there were water supply and access issues for the boat.
