Contra Costa County Fire Protection District crews extinguished a one-alarm fire that displaced two people, three cats and a dog in Martinez late Sunday night, according to fire officials.
The blaze was first reported at 11:08 p.m. at 2268 Minaret Drive, Fire Capt. Lisa Martinez said. Fire crews arrived to see furniture that had caught fire and a blaze that had extended into the home’s attic.
Crews at the scene called for the home to be boarded up shortly before midnight, but no exact containment time was immediately provided.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
