Man robbed of wheelchair left immobile on street all night

A suspect allegedly pushed a man off his wheelchair Wednesday night in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, leaving the victim on the ground immobile, police said.

On Thursday around 7:45 a.m., officers responded to the corner of Fulton and Hyde streets, regarding a robbery.

The 43-year-old victim told officers a suspect approached him from behind the previous night and pushed him off the wheelchair. The suspect then took the wheelchair, according to police.

Unable to move, the victim was forced to stay on the ground all night before reporting the robbery, police said.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Officers were unable to recover the wheelchair and the suspect has not been apprehended, according to police.
