Overturned big-rig blocks multiple lanes in Walnut Creek

A crash involving an overturned big-rig is blocking multiple lanes of northbound Interstate Highway 680 in Walnut Creek Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

According to the CHP, the spilled material was not hazardous.

The crash was reported shortly before 7:05 a.m. on northbound Highway 680 near the Treat Boulevard off-ramp.

The solo driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Four northbound lanes are still blocked and traffic is severely impacted as of 9:08 a.m., CHP officials indicated in a tweet. There is no estimate yet for when the lanes will reopen.
