Fremont man missing three days found cold but okay

A 34-year-old man reported last seen Wednesday in Fremont was found late Saturday afternoon near Mount Hamilton in Santa Clara County, a sheriff’s sergeant said.

Robyn Burrows-Ownbey was found cold but generally OK at approximately 4 p.m. near Joseph D. Grant Park off Mount Hamilton Road east of San Jose, said Sgt. Michael Low of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

Low said:

“(Burrows-Ownbey) was out in the cold the last three days.” 

“Finding him was like the needle in the haystack.”

Burrows-Ownbey, 34, was taken to an area hospital for observation, Low said.

Burrows-Ownbey’s disappearance was first reported to the Fremont Police Department. Low said the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team was called in Friday morning, searching Friday and again starting Saturday morning.

Further information about how Burrows-Ownbey first disappeared was not immediately available Saturday night; Fremont police could not be reached for comment.
