Police investigate morning Market Street shooting

A man suffered injuries not considered life-threatening in a shooting Thursday morning along San Francisco’s Market Street, police said.

Officers responded to the corner of Market and 6th streets around 10:05 a.m. for a report of a shooting.

There, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, police said.

The shooter fled the scene and a suspect description was not immediately available.

Police are continuing to investigate what led up to the shooting. They’re asking anyone with information to call the Police Department’s tip line at (415) 515-4444 or to text a tip to TIP411 with “SFPD” at the beginning of the message.
