San Francisco Police Department, San Francisco, Calif.
Officers are investigating a vehicle collision that was followed by a shooting Monday night in San Francisco’s Inner Sunset neighborhood, police said.
Around 9:25 p.m., officers learned shots had been fired near the corner of 11th Avenue and Lawton Street.
At the scene, officers found that two vehicles had collided. The impact caused the vehicles to also collide with several parked and unoccupied cars, according to police.
After the collision, an SUV with four male occupants allegedly pulled up and one of the SUV’s occupants fired several shots at the vehicles involved in the collision. The SUV then fled the area, police said.
None of the occupants of the involved vehicles were injured in the shooting and officers recovered the spent shell casings.
Although one car occupant suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision, they did not need to be hospitalized, police said.
The collision and shooting remain under investigation.
