4.5 magnitude earthquake strikes in series near Pleasant Hill

A preliminary 4.5 magnitude earthquake rocked the East Bay Monday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake struck at 10:33 p.m. and was centered less than a mile south of Pleasant Hill.

A 2.5 magnitude earthquake struck at 10:23 p.m. with a 1.9 magnitude earlier at 10:15 p.m.
