Morgan Hill Caltrain station loses power, causes Clipper woes

The Morgan Hill Caltrain station lost power during PG&E’s Public Safety Power Shutoff Thursday morning, Caltrain said.

After first believing the power shutoff would not affect the train system, Caltrain said its Morgan Hill station lost power at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

It is unclear when power will be restored to the station.

Caltrain said in a statement:

“Caltrain apologizes to its riders for any resulting inconvenience.”

The agency said:

“Riders traveling to Morgan Hill this evening should use ticket vending machines at their origin station as they normally would. Riders using Clipper cards will not be able to tag off at the station’s Clipper card riders. Instead, Caltrain will have staff on hand at the station with battery-operated Clipper card readers to assist passengers in tagging off.”
