Richmond orders mandatory evacuations due to gas main break


The city of Richmond is ordering mandatory evacuations in an area where a gas main broke Thursday.

The city at 12:51 p.m. ordered the evacuation of the area within a block of S 8th Street and Virginia Avenue, located near Harbour Way South and Cutting Boulevard.

No other details about the gas main break were immediately available.
