Five-vehicle collision leaves one seriously injured, one in custody

One person was taken to a hospital and another was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a five-vehicle collision on northbound U.S. Highway 101 in Menlo Park early Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said the collision was first reported at 2:36 a.m. just north of Marsh Road. The injured party was transported to a hospital with major injuries.

Multiple lanes of the freeway were closed for more than an hour as officers investigated the collision.
