Police on Friday released a surveillance photo of suspect in a strong-arm robbery that injured a woman in East Oakland earlier this year. The suspect assaulted a woman as she was leaving a church service about 6 p.m. April 7 in the 1200 block of 86th Avenue, according to police. The victim was severely injured in the attack.
The suspect fled on foot. He is described as an African American man, 20-30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, wearing a dark gray hoodie and black pants with an orange towel hanging from his pants.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact the Oakland Police Department’s Robbery and Assault Unit at 510-238-3326. Oakland police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest in this case.
