Dixon man identified as victim in fatal truck crash

A truck driver who fatally crashed his vehicle and rolled down an embankment Monday morning along Interstate Highway 80 at the edge of Richmond and San Pablo has been identified as 36-year-old Jose Molina, according to the Contra Costa County coroner’s office.

Molina was heading east around 5 a.m. when he drifted into a guardrail and rolled down the hill, according to the California Highway Patrol. The Dixon resident was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash and subsequent investigation blocked multiple lanes of eastbound traffic on Highway 80 for the rest of the morning.
