Fire crews have started to mop-up a fire at a three-story apartment complex in Martinez early Monday morning, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.
The blaze, first reported at 4:10 a.m. as a fire on a second-story balcony, was knocked down at 4:30 a.m. on a third-story balcony of an apartment at 3979 Alhambra Ave., fire spokesman Steve Hill said.
One person walked up to a fire unit for treatment of a burn on the scene. Residents were able to self-evacuate from their apartments with help from Martinez police, Hill said.
Crews started mopping up the blaze around 4:42 a.m. Nobody else was hurt. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
