Oakland 12th Street BART station closes as police search for shooter

BART officials said the 12th Street station in Oakland is closed as BART police search for a suspect in a shooting Tuesday in The Shops at Tanforan in San Bruno.

As of 4:56 p.m. the 12th Street station had been evacuated and closed and BART police were searching for a suspect who may be on a train.

All southbound BART trains from San Francisco going toward Millbrae or the San Francisco International Airport were being turned back at the South San Francisco station, BART spokesman Chris Filippi said.

Northbound trains from Millbrae are also being turned around before the San Bruno station.
