A 34-year-old woman was arrested after fleeing the scene of a burglary in Concord and then leading authorities on a pursuit in a recreational vehicle early Wednesday morning, police said.
Jessica Tomsky is in custody after officers initially responded at 4:07 a.m. to a silent alarm and possible burglary in progress at a business in the 1300 block of Galaxy Way, according to police.
Officers arrived to find two vehicles fleeing and began dual pursuits onto Commerce Avenue, across Concord Avenue and then up the wrong way on the southbound state Highway 242 on-ramp, police said. Police initially stopped the pursuit for safety reasons, but moments later found one of the vehicles, a large RV, going south on the highway. The pursuit continued for about 8 to 10 miles until the RV again drove the wrong way, this time up the southbound Highway 242 off-ramp at Solano Way.
Officers again terminated their pursuit, but callers reported seeing it again, this time heading west on the shoulder of eastbound state Highway 4, police said.
Tomsky was eventually arrested on suspicion of multiple counts of fleeing from police, commercial burglary and possession of stolen property, since she had property from the Galaxy Way site as well as other burglaries in Concord and elsewhere, according to police.
