Fire ignites at East Oakland homeless camp


A homeless camp was reportedly on fire Monday morning in Oakland, fire officials said.

The fire was reported at 6:07 a.m. at East 12th Street and 17th Avenue in East Oakland.

The fire could be seen from Interstate Highway 880, which travels parallel to East 12th Street in the that area, according to reports to the California Highway patrol.
