A Fairfield man was arrested after a traffic stop late Monday night resulted in the discovery of narcotics that were likely for sale and a firearm, according to police.
Two officers on DUI enforcement pulled over the suspect, William Scrivner, in a silver Jaguar for speeding and expired registration around 11:50 p.m., police said, who was determined to be driving on a suspended license.
As Scrivner exited the vehicle, according to police, the officers saw that he had been sitting on a large amount of cash and empty handgun holster was found in the driver’s side door pocket.
Police said a search of the vehicle found a black fanny pack with a significant amount of narcotics and a scale.
When the officers didn’t locate a firearm, a police canine was called in and found the handgun in the front yard of a home in the 200 block of Stephen Street.
Scrivner has been booked into Solano County Jail.
