Police find ‘no merit’ to Potrero Hill shooter report

Police on Monday confirmed a report regarding a possible shooter in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill was determined to have no merit. Officers first responded to the 300 block of Rhode Island Street around 12:45 p.m., police said.

A nearby building was evacuated and officers searched the building, but ultimately found no evidence of a shooting.

No injuries were reported, police said.

Tenants of the evacuated building were being let back inside late Monday afternoon.
