All lanes of the westbound Interstate Highway 580 connector ramp to westbound Interstate Highway 80 and the Bay Bridge in Oakland have reopened Tuesday morning after a big-rig caught fire and caused a big traffic backup, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The big-rig carrying cooking oil was first reported to be on fire at 5:16 a.m. in the far right lane of the ramp, CHP officials said. The far left lane reopened as of shortly after 7 a.m. and all lanes reopened by shortly after 9 a.m., according to the CHP.
