Suspect at large after West Portal violent argument leaves man badly injured

A man suffered life-threatening injuries early Tuesday morning when an assailant violently attacked him following an argument in San Francisco’s West Portal neighborhood, police said.

Around 1:35 a.m., officers responded to the assault reported near West Portal Avenue and Ulloa Street.

According to police, officers learned that an argument between the victim and the suspect turned violent when the suspect punched him multiple times and then slammed his head into the ground, police said. The badly injured victim, a 36-year-old man, was taken to a hospital for his injuries, according to police.

The suspect, a man believed to be around 30 years old, fled on foot and officers were unable to locate him.
