BART spokeswoman Cheryl Stalter reported shortly after 9 a.m. that service had been restored to the system with the exception of stations south of Daly City, including Millbrae and San Francisco International Airport. The service problem was first reported by BART at 5:50 a.m. as crews working overnight on BART’s uninterruptible power supply in Oakland ran into problems that impacted the system’s traction power supply system and train control routing system.
BART is advising travelers impacted by the service interruption to use its trip planner at bart.gov to find transit options during the system outage. Bus agencies that run parallel service to BART stations are offering free rides until service is restored.
