Richmond mayor solicits community input to rename ferry terminal

Richmond Mayor Tom Butt would like to rename the city’s new ferry terminal, which opened in January, and he’s asking the community for suggestions.

In an email sent to constituents Monday afternoon, Butt called FT-RCH, which stands for Ferry Terminal Richmond, “unimaginative.” There may still be time to improve upon it, though.

He suggested that RR-RCH for Rosie the Riveter, or CP-RCH for Craneway Pavilion, might be better options.

“If you would like to suggest a moniker,” Butt said, “I will send it in to the ferry powers that be.”
