Suspect killed Thursday in officer-involved shooting


The San Jose Police Department has confirmed one person was killed Thursday in an officer-involved shooting in San Jose.

The incident occurred in the 2500 block of North First Street, according to a police department release.

One suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene, and a second suspect was taken into custody, police said.

San Jose Police Department Chief Eddie Garcia is schedule to provide a statement at a media briefing Friday at 12:30 p.m. The briefing will take place at the San Jose Police Department at 201 W. Mission St., Room 314 in San Jose.
