A 70-year-old man in a wheelchair was struck and killed by a van while crossing El Camino Real in San Bruno on Wednesday morning, according to police.
The man, identified by the San Mateo County coroner’s office as San Bruno resident Rajendra Prasad, was crossing El Camino Real at Santa Lucia Avenue shortly after 6 a.m. when a van traveling south on El Camino Real struck him, police said.
Prasad was taken to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The van driver stopped at the scene and their name is not being released, police said.
