Suspect identified in violent Tenderloin stomping attack

San Francisco police are looking for a 25-year-old Oakland man in connection with a brutal attack on a man Friday at Cyril Magnin and Ellis Streets about a block from the Powell Street BART station.

Melton Early Kelly is sought for the brutal stomping of a man near that intersection Friday. The man was listed in serious condition Saturday, police said. The victim was also robbed, police said.

Police said a “very active manhunt” is underway Saturday night to find Kelly. Anyone who sees him or has information that could lead police to him is asked to call either 911 or the San Francisco Police Department tip line at (415) 575-4444.
