A Santa Rosa man has been sentenced to life in prison following his conviction for attempted murder stemming from a 2017 attack, the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.
Quentin Bernard Bowen, 28, was convicted of attempted murder including great bodily injury and weapon enhancements. He will be eligible for parole after 11 years.
The victim had been caring for Bowen’s dog and on March 31, 2017, Bowen went to the victim’s home to visit the animal.
A few hours into the visit, Bowen attacked the 64-year-old victim from behind without warning, prosecutors said.
Bowen struck the older man on the head with a rock and then stabbed him in the neck and chest.
The victim was able to escape, and Bowen fled the scene.
Bowen was apprehended a short time later.
The victim suffered eight stab wounds.
