San Jose brush fire burns two acres

A vegetation fire burned just over two acres Thursday afternoon by the Capitol Expressway in San Jose, a fire department spokesman said.

The fire was reported at 4:38 p.m. at Capitol Expressway and Tuers Road, fire Capt. Mitch Matlow said.

The left side of the fire is contained while firefighters are still working to contain the right side.

Matlow said no structures are involved yet and no horses are threatened. The fire is not far from Coyote Creek and Andrew Hill High School at 3200 Senter Road.

Matlow said a homeless encampment was involved.
