Woman killed, three injured in Petaluma pileup

A 67-year-old woman was killed and three people were injured in a six-car collision on Lakeville Highway in Petaluma Tuesday morning, a Petaluma police lieutenant said.

A 19-year-old male driver in a Chevrolet Silverado was driving west on Lakeville Highway toward Petaluma around 7:15 a.m. when he crossed over solid, double-yellow lines into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with the woman’s Toyota Prius, Lt. Ron Klein said.

The Silverado also struck a Honda Accord driven by a 22-year-old man who suffered injuries not considered life-threatening, Klein said.

Klein said the Silverado’s driver and a 50-year-old male passenger suffered serious injuries that are not life threatening.

Three other vehicles sustained minor damage in the collisions near the South McDowell Boulevard extension.

The collision is under investigation and witnesses are asked to call Petaluma police Officer Mario Giomi at (707) 776-3722.
